Thank you for the giveaway! I think May might just become my favorite month! To relax, I listen to uplifting songs or I try to find some quiet time. Sometimes I take a nap and other times I go for a walk or hike if I can. I especially like to connect with Jesus my Savior and listen to His Spirit comfort me.

    • Thanks Simona for sharing. You have some great self-care activities. I like that you are nurture your body – walks and naps, as well as your spirit. So often we think self-care as only one-dimensional – body only, or feelings only. Glad to have your input and entry. Best wishes for the contest.

What I try to do to relax .
Currently having a 5month old baby having that moment to relax can be tricky especially if your son or daughter has a disability. If I can get a quick 20mins of relaxation it’s either a nice hot bath or have a simple cup of coffee or be able to listen to some music. I love seeing my son grow and become a strong determined little boy who’s always smiling and wanting to talk.

    • Hi Casey,
Thank you for sharing. Raising a child with special needs can be challenging, self-care is so important. Having a bath when caring for a baby is a luxury in itself ( I remember ).
I hope you will stay in touch with this site as you transition through the phases of parenting, I hope we will be a supportive guide.
      Best regards for the contest.
      Cheers

What I try and do to relax:

Being a first time mom is never easy. I didn’t have experience with babies. I always loved being around older kids but wouldn’t ever want to hold a baby (definitely anxiety for that for sure). But after having your own it really changed me and now everytime I see a baby I get excited and want to snuggle! My fiance after having about 3 weeks off after my son’s birth had to go work out of town, so to say the least I felt so lost. But it really gave me time for my motherly instinct to kick in. Now he is 9 months and non stop moving everywhere and already getting into everything! So what I do to try and relax is to eat icecream and watch a binge worthy tv show, and try and take a nap when I can !

#motherhood is a job too; the most heart warming job.

    • Hi Angela,
      Thanks for sharing.
Yes… it is a big learning curve as a first time mom. It doesnt matter how much you read, advice people give you, you still have to work if out for yourself. Ice-cream is a cool, creamy, comforting treat. A good tv show that engages your imagination, or makes you laugh, is a great way to just mentally change your environment.
      Thanks for participating. Good luck.

Lately I have been booking childminding so that I can visit the gym. As a mom who has postpartum anxiety I’m glad to have found swimming as a way of calming myself and nurturing my body.

    • Thanks Jenny
Going to the gym is an awesome option. It gives you the opportunity to socialise with other grown ups which is so important for a mom with a young baby, plus the excercise. Investing in childcare so that you can care for yourself is probably priceless. Yeah for babysitters !!!!!
      Good luck in our #giveaway.

  9. To relax, have time for me that means having a coffee with my friend outside of the house.

    • Hi Jovanna,
      Thank you for sharing.
Geting outside of the house is such a simple refresher. Spring is finally here, its a great time to go hang out on a patio with friends. A simple cup of coffee is a great context.

I am grateful for you sharing your self-care routine. That mets one of the 2 criteria for entrance in this giveaway. If you have not subscribed yet, I am extending the time until Tuesday may 14th for those who may have missed this step. Add your email to the “Follow Us” bar on the left column. This will be how I will contact you (via email) if you are a winner. Good luck.
